  • Poor Granny

Today Kadayah convinced my mom that I am the most inept parent on the face of the planet.  John fell down the stairs today and Kadayah was there to give her all of the details.  Apparently, according to Kadayah, the dog(the pomeranian) knocked John from the top of the stairs down to the bottom.  John hit his head and his eye swelled up really big and he cried because he couldn't see.  Now, I am not sure why my mom thought that I would have just taken John back upstairs if he possibly had a concussion, but then my family thought my profile picture was real so...yeah.  I told her that John had a small bruise on his eye and he fell because he was running too fast.  He didn't fall from the top of the stairs.  He maybe fell down 3 steps.  She was completely freaking out about it.  It's nice to know that my mom thinks I would be like, oh, your brain is bleeding? Well, I can't see it and I have to get on Xanga, OK.  I'll take you later or if it starts coming out of your ears.

  • @Want2FitIn2Fat2Fit - @Ampbreia - @Grannys_Place - He got right back up; he and his cousin ate lunch and then went ghost hunting (or the ghost were chasing them I should say).

  • I am happy John is ok.

  • Oi Vey!  You'd think your mother would know you better than that!  I'm glad John is okay thought.

  • My mom was a huge helicopter mom, she doesn't understand my more 'hands off' approach at all.  Especially since it never involves panic, lol.

5 year olds are obviously much more advanced than I thought!!!! LOL

  • I'm glad your little guy is OK !

  • wow... that's a sad day when the 5 year old is considered more reliable than you lol...

  • @NatalyLoveless - she is very religious, lol.  I wouldn't even go there with her.  She'd freak out and think the dog would actually get possessed because we joked about it.

  • Tell her the pom was possessed and the Catholic priest exorcised and cleared her from all demons. This could be bad or great advice depending on how religious she is.

  • @blue_dragonfly420 - My parents think we should take the kids to the ER for everything.  They took us all the time.  I remember getting a lot of B12 shots.  Now days, I don't think they were entertain paranoid parents that way (but then again, parents now days would think the doctor was trying to give them the disease d'jour).

  • haha.i think ppl forget kids will be kids. they're going to get bruises and skinned knees. they're going to fall down and run into things.  and chances are they will break a bone and need stitches before they move out of you're house.  Sure serious injuries & illnesses bring them into the ER but they're tough.....they're built for that type of stuff.  Glad he's ok!

  • @Caldwell88 - LOL.  I am not sure why she believed a 5 year old anyway.  I should have let John come down the stairs before telling her what happened and when she noticed that there was nothing wrong shout, "It's a miracle!"

  • I meant to add... I'm glad John is okay!

  • I know a few people like that.

Everything is "hurry up and go to the emergency room" or "so and so could bleed to death". For example...shortly after Gavin's last ear surgery he was bleeding from where they cleaned out the scar tissue. We were told that it was completely fine and normal. So, this certain friend texts me and I tell her what's going on and her exact words are "you need to take him to the emergency room he could bleed to death or turn out to be deaf in that ear". Sometimes I wonder if people forget that we are parents and we do know what we're doing...
